Abstract

Sloanea lasiocoma (Elaeocarpaceae) is recorded for the first time for the Argentinean flora in the province of Misiones, and it is the first record of Eleocarpaceae in northeastern Argentina. The species is described and illustrated and ecological observations are given. A key to distinguish Sloanea from the other three genera of Elaeocarpaceae present in Argentina is included.
