AbstractPainting of a spider monkey (Ateles) in an arboreal setting, gripping tree branches with hands, feet, and prehensile tail. Superimposed is a radiograph of a spider monkey (Ateles) tail (USNM 536100). The original painting is in acrylic, by Tim D. Smith. A special thanks to Leo W. Smith for allowing us to use his bedroom wall mural for the cover of this issue.
