Primary structure of barley embryo tRNA Phe and its identity with wheat germ tRNA Phe

Abstract

The purification of barley tRNA Phe and the identification of the products of its digestion with pancreatic and T 1 ribonucleases are described. The primary structure of tRNA Phe was determined by pancreatic and T 1-oligonucleotide overlaps and by analysis of the partial T 1-ribonuclease digest. Nucleotide sequence of barley tRNA Phe is identical with that of tRNA Phe from wheat germ. The existence of two chromatographically distinct forms of barley tRNA Phe was found to result from the Y base modification.
