Abstract
The content of programming contests for students in grades 1–4 of the Gomel region (Belarus) is described in this article. A general idea of the thematic content of the tasks and examples of the tasks of the city Olympiad, which took place on April 8, 2016, is provided. The methodology of teaching and preparing junior schoolchildren for such Olympiads is also briefly described. A serious technical basis is the instrumental system of distance learning developed under the control of the author (DL.GSU.BY).
