Abstract

A 9-month-old female infant was referred to the Department of ENT, K.E.M. Hospital, Pune, India, for evaluation of a left cheek mass for the last 2 months. History revealed that the mass had been growing progressively over the last 2 months. The child also had subjective fever over the last 15 days for which antibiotics had been administered by the local practitioner with no change in the size of the mass or the fever. On examination, the child was febrile. A single 2 × 3-cm swelling was present on the left cheek extending to the infraauricular region and pushing the left pinna outward. The swelling was tender, warm, and firm; and the skin over the swelling was erythematous with induration (Fig. 1).
