Abstract

AbstractMesenteric follicular lymphoma with mesenteric panniculitis is a rare cause of abdominal pain. We present the case of a 64‐year‐old woman who had intermittent, randomly located abdominal pain for 3 months. Abdominal computed tomography revealed mesenteric panniculitis and lymphadenopathy. After laparoscopic excisional biopsy, a diagnosis of follicular lymphoma was made. Further chemotherapy effectively downsized the mesenteric lymphadenopathy, and the pain was completely resolved. Our report demonstrates a rare and important differential diagnosis of abdominal pain and the crucial role of surgical excisional biopsy to diagnose mesenteric lymphoma.
