Abstract

Primary vaginal malignant melanoma is a rare malignancy. Post menopausal women are most commonly affected. It accounts for 0.3–0.8% of all malignant melanoma and less than 3% of all vaginal malignancies. It arises from melanocytes present in the basal layer of epithelium. These melanocytes migrates from neural crest to mucosa. We present a case of primary vaginal malignant melanoma with history of discharge. On examination a mass in upper part of vagina was seen.
