Abstract

Primary lymphoma of the breast is a rare condition. No more than 60 patients were reported in a single literature and most reports contained less than 20 cases. Three cases with primary lymphoma of the breast were treated in the department of radiation oncology at Mackay Memorial Hospital from January 1985 to December 1994. Their treatment included modified radical mastectomy for two and biopsy for one case. All of these three cases received local radiotherapy and systemic chemotherapy after surgery. One patient was free of disease after 5 years of follow-up, but the other two patients died of secondary infection and brain metastasis, 5 months and 4 years later, respectively. We reviewed the literature for breast lymphoma and discussed the clinical features, histiopathologic finding, mammography, treatment policy and prognosis about this disease.
