Abstract
We report two cases of primary malignant lymphoma, unusually originating in the skull base, respectively, in clivus and temporal bone, and histologically confirmed after biopsy. In both cases, Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) disclosed homogenously enhancing tumours with bone destruction. Because of the non-specific imaging characteristics as well as the infrequent occurrence, consideration of this entity is important in planning the proper therapeutic modality. In some occasion, surgical biopsy could be preferred to an extensive resection of critically located lesions. Tissue diagnosis is crucial to assess the definitive treatment. Chemotherapy and adjuvant radiation therapy are generally recommended to provide a good control of the disease.
