Abstract

Abstract Primary localized amyloidosis of sinonasal tract is an extremely rare disease with only 24 reported cases in English literature. The age of patients range from 8 to 86 years, with no sex predilection. Herein, we are reporting a case of nasal amyloidosis in a 9-year-old girl who was diagnosed with nasal obstruction and epistaxis. Physical examination revealed bilateral nasal masses. The lesion was excised completely. Histologic examination of the biopsy showed eosinophilic, amorphous extracellular deposition of amyloid, confirmed by immunohistochemical study. Systemic amyloidosis was ruled out. To our knowledge, this is the third documented case of nasal amyloidosis in a child reported in English literature.
