Abstract
Primary gastric adenocarcinoma whose carcinoma cells resemble plasma cells (plasmacytoid adenocarcinoma) is extremely rare. Most cases of plasmacytoid carcinoma are plasmacytoid urothelial carcinoma of the urinary bladder [1, 2]. CD138positive plasmacytoid carcinoma of the stomach has not been reported, to the best of the author’s knowledge.Herein reported is the first case of a plasmacytoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach. The author herein tentatively uses the term “plasmacytoid adenocarcinoma” for adenocarcinoma whose carcinoma cells resemble plasma cells.
