Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Primary breast lymphoma is a rare disease. The treatment of lymphomas is chemotherapy and radiotherapy. SUBJECT: We present a 22-year old lady who was referred to the plastic surgery unit for a reduction mammoplasty following a painless bilateral breast enlargement. The initial investigations suggested a benign disease. The clinical progression and further incisional biopsy confirmed Burkitt\'s lymphoma (BL), and was referred to the haematology-oncologists for medical treatment. CONCLUSION: The case underscores the importance of thorough evaluation before reduction mammoplasties are performed. Keywords : Burkitt\'s lymphoma, breast, reduction mammoplasty.
