Abstract

This paper uses a dominant-firm, price-leadership model to compare the equilibrium prices, profits, and market shares under a tariff, a volume quota, and a ratio quota. It will be shown that in general the three alternative trade restrictions do not lead to the same equilibrium values for all of these variables.
