Abstract

Almost 70% of the prey of adult females of Pardosa amentata consists of Diptera. During warm sunny days adult females feed more actively in the morning than in the afternoon. The duration of feeding is directly proportional to the weight of the prey. Adult females, on warm sunny days, kill, on average, just over one prey organism (approximately 3.5 mg live weight) per day.
