Abstract

Case histories and examples of cutting-edge seismic technology related to oil and gas exploration/production in the Rockies will again be the main features of the 3D Seismic Symposium sponsored by The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists and the Denver Geophysical Society. This one-day conference, designed for oil and gas professionals who are developing practical applications for 3D seismic, will be held on 10 March 2006 at the Denver Downtown Marriott Hotel. Former SEG president Rutt Bridges (chairman of Transform Software and Services and CEO of the Bighorn Center for Public Policy) will be the kickoff speaker. He will investigate the future opportunities and risks in Rockies oil and gas basins in “The next ten years in the Rockies: Demand, technology, and politics.” His theme is that success will hinge on combining superior geophysical techniques with wise public partnerships.
