Abstract

Objective To explore the preventive effects of traditional chinese medicine education of breast feeding on breast disease during lactation. Methods From October 2012 to October 2013, a total of 1 022 women who delivered at the fourth Hospital of shijiazhuang City were included in the study.They were divided into study group(n=512, with traditional Chinese medicine eduction) and control group(n=510, without traditional Chinese medicine education) according to if they accepted traditional chinese medicine education of breast feeding in school of pregnant. The incidence rate of postpartum galactostasis disease, cracked nipple and mastitis were compared between two groups. Results The incidence rate of postpartum galactostasis disease, cracked nipple and mastitis in study group were much higher than those of control group(χ2=37.75, 38.56, 46.17; P<0.05). Conclusions Traditional Chinese medicine education of breast feeding have great clinical significance on prevention of breast disease. It also can promote breast feeding.
