Abstract
Three doses of inactivated hepatitis B vaccine were given to 33 healthy children aged less than 5 years. Of those HBVac recipients who were seronegative before vaccination, 79% had a specific anti-HBs response without any side effects. As this vaccine is safe and immunogenic in neonates, it is possible to use it for the prevention of mother-to-infant transmission of HBV.
