Abstract
Postoperative steroids, when used in large amounts, have been shown to reduce the incidence of stenosis in dogs with high-density polyethylene resin (Marlex) mesh tracheal grafts. The present animal study has shown these extremely high levels of corticosteroids are not necessary to prohibit the formation of granulation tissue, satisfactory results being obtained with much lower levels of steroid.
