Abstract

The results of studying the effectiveness of the system for the prevention of orthopedic pathology in Holstein cattle, based on the maximum possible exclusion of technological stress in the processing of hooves, are reflected. During the orthopedic medical examination of 475 female cattle, 265 sick animals were identified and the spread of surgical diseases of the hooves was established. The most massively registered cases of Mortellaro disease (24.0%) and Rusterholtz ulcer (20.0%). Tyloma (3.2%), white line disease (3.2%), purulent pododermatitis (1.9%), etc. were much less common. The lack of planned disinfection measures, irregular and long intervals between hooves treatments artificially lengthening with the development of infertility of animals were essential in the etiology of these pathologies.
