Prevention of Childhood Lead Toxicity.

Abstract

An error occurred in the following publication: Committee on Environmental Health. Prevention of childhood lead toxicity. Pediatrics. 2016;138(1): e20161493. On the fifth page of the policy statement, in the section titled “Sources and Variability of Lead Exposure,” in the third paragraph, the first sentence should read: “The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) defines lead-based paint as an XRF reading ≥1 mg/cm2 or 5000 ppm of lead in a paint chip.36” This error also occurs in Table 4, in the first line, in which the standard for lead-based paint (XRF) should read 1 mg/cm2 (instead of 1 μg/cm2).
