Introduction

A maioria das pesquisas que estudaram a relação entre insatisfação com a imagem corporal e estado nutricional utilizaram apenas o IMC como indicador do estado nutricional (PINHEIRO; GIUGLIANI, 2006; CONTI; FRUTUOSO; GAMBARDELLA, 2005; BRANCO; HILÁRIO; CINTRA, 2006), porém esse método não tem sido considerado preciso para estimar a adiposidade corporal (ACUÑA; CRUZ, 2004; ANJOS, 1992).
