Abstract

Knowing natural history of the bucal pathologies without modern interventions, allows us to compare the development of these with the present data. The objective of this study is to determined the prevalence of dental decay and dental loss in human remains from an identify group of people recovery from of the general cementery that lived between 1950 and 1970. Were studied 44 human rests from Santiago “Cementerio General”. Individual clinical form was carried out, including dental charts, with the following data: number of present teeth, number of health dental alveolus, number, depth and location of caries lesions, bone reabsorbed, sequel of dental abscess. A means of 20.59 teeth loosed pre mortem. DMFT was 21.2 and SIC 27.6. 50% are upper edentulous and 27.3% mandibular edentulous. The population presented severe damage of oral health. High rate of bone lost, low number of teeth and high DMFT scores.
