Abstract
Aim: There are gaps in our knowledge of prevalence, awareness and control of severe hypercholesterolemia (low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol cholesterol (LDL-C) cholesterol > 5.0 mmol/l) in the Russian Federation. Increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in Russia is related to high prevalence of hypercholesterolemia and low statin use.
