Abstract

The prevalence of obesity and chronic energy deficiency (CED) among females in Morogoro district of Tanzania and the associated socioeconomic factors were investigated. The nutritional status of 976 females involved in various occupational activities, namely farming (n = 236), housework (n = 294), business (n = 200), and civil service (n = 246) in Morogoro district was determined using body mass index (BMI) (kg/m2) as an index for body energy (body fat and muscle mass) reserves.
