Anticoagulation with warfarin may fail to achieve the therapeutic target of the international normalized ratio (INR) in >30% of patients.1 This study examined the prevalence of intra-atrial thrombi in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who received warfarin for ≥3 weeks but had a subtherapeutic INR.
