Risk factors for developing diabetic foot lesions include older age, gender as males are at higher risk, belonging to certain racial groups, longer duration of diabetes, other diabetes related complications, poor blood glucose control in addition to smoking, The rising prevalence of diabetes all over the world has brought with it an increase in the number of lower limb amputations performed as a result of the disease
