Abstract
Objective: To estimate the Prevalence of depression among diabetic patient attending primary health care in Almadinah city. Design:A descriptive cross-sectional study. Setting:Diabetic patients attending to primary health care centers belong to ministry of health in Al Madinah city. Participants: 379 questionnaires have been distributed to diabetic patients who met inclusion criteria in the study. Main Result:Of total 379 participants in this study, depression was founded in138 participants with prevalence 36.4%, results showed that there is a significant statistical association between depression and job status, other factors like gender and age showed no significant associations with prevalence of depression. Conclusion:The prevalence of depression among diabetic patient attending primary health care is 36.4%, most of them are mild. 1 factor showed significant association with depression, which was job status.
