Abstract

Objective: The cyclic bleeding in lesions of endometriosis may be caused by functional properties or degeneration of their cellular compartment evoked either by primary necrosis or by process of stimulated apoptosis and/or secondary necrosis. To contribute to the solution of this problem we tried to detect some markers of apoptosis in endometriotic lesions using Annexin-V (phospohatidylserin as a membrane marker) or M30 CytoDeath antibody as an indicator of activated Caspase 3 (cleaving of Cytokeratin 18).
