Abstract

Uterine artery pseudoaneurysm (UAP) is a potentially life-threatening complication that can occur after a uterine surgery, dilatation and curettage, traumatic delivery (such as forceps or vacuum delivery) or after other causes of vascular trauma, the most common being a caesarean section (C/S) [1-4]. Some UAP can appear many years after a uterine surgery [2,5] or even after a nontraumatic delivery/abortion or manual removal of the placenta [3,4].

Summary

Introduction

In all societies, women and girls are subjected to physical, sexual and psychological abuse that cuts across lines of income, class, and culture [1]. Violence against women violates women's rights and fundamental freedom, but it impairs their health sexual and reproductive health. Violence against women is a complex multifactorial and multi-dimensional phenomenon; literature, attributes it to women's socio-economic positions. Low socio-economic status intertwined with patriarchal culture put the women in a subordinate position that have repercussions for their three important spaces namely; bodily personal and cognitive [6]. Violence against women is multifaceted, and multidimensional global phenomenon; but highly endemic in Pakistan. Gender roles and socio-economic factors put women in subordinate status that makes them prone to all kinds of violence.
