Abstract

A pretreatment method for dewatering peat is reported. The method is based on the addition of Fe 2+ and hydrogen peroxide. The filtration capacity is comparable to that of polymer-treated peat. The method is promising because of the reduction of the costs for added chemicals compared to other methods.
