Abstract
The Ro-Dip system for pretreatment and electrocoating lines provides excellent process quality. The problem with trapped air bubbles is less compared to other dipping systems. The negative effect, if it arises, is that the bubbles are located on all floor sections. Due to the possibility of moving the cab back and forward in the electrocoat tank with voltage in a wider range then by horizontal dipping, the problem can be reduced to a minimum. The standard modules and the flexibility to increase the capacity by an extra dip tank makes the system very interesting for low volume production plants. An economic study has shown the superiority of the system in respect to a lower investment cost of approximately 20% compared to other discontinuous systems. Volvo Truck Co. confirms that the system is suitable for pretreatment and electrocoating of truck cabs as well as car bodies.
