Abstract

Pretraining improved the reliability of the Arithmetic Reasoning Test for Chicano students, but it did not change the reliability for non-Chicano students. There is a strong indication that pretraining Chicano students on the Arithmetic Reasoning Test not only improves the reliability but also improves the predictive power of the test. Pretraining did not improve the reliability of the Missing Words Test for any group, but it appears to have improved the predictive power of this test for both Chicano and non-Chicano students.
