Abstract

Q and s Q ) of the formation underground have gradually been accepted as reservoir or hydrocarbon indicators in oil/gas reservoir characterization. The differing opinions of the mechanism of the attenuation of seismic wave result to various approaches to estimate the P-wave and S-wave quality factors. Based on the assumption of the viscoelasticity of the underground medium, a pre-stack seismic simultaneous inversion approach for P-wave and S-wave quality factors is proposed in this study. Under the hypothesis of born integral and stationary phase, the P-wave reflection coefficients is initially raised in terms of P-wave modulus, S-wave modulus, density, P-wave quality factor and Swave quality factor. And then, a simultaneous elastic inversion approach in Bayesian scheme is suggested with complex seismic data. Finally, tests on synthetic and real data set demonstrate that the proposed approach is able to estimate P-wave and S-wave quality factors reasonably and properly.
