Abstract
The modern generation of pressure-wave supercharger (PWS) called Hyprex offers a new approach for supercharging gasoline engines. This type of PWS has the potential to replace complex and costly two-stage supercharging systems. Thereby, the base engine may be kept simple and small, with minimized on-costs. This article documents the results of the collaboration between Swissauto Wenko AG, the Measurement and Control Laboratory of ETH Zurich, and Robert Bosch GmbH.
