Abstract
Pressure-temperature phase diagrams for the metal-to insulator transition in V N O 2 N−1 compounds are presented. As N approaches N = 7 the sensitivity of the metal-to-insulator transition temperature to pressure increases. In V 8O 15, at pressures greater than 9 kbar, an antiferromagnetic transition appears, and at pressures greater than 14 kbar, the metal-to-insulator transition is totally suppressed, leaving only the antiferromagnetic transition.
