Abstract

Concerning the response characteristics of air pressure inside of double glazed window, theoretical analysis and experiment have been investigated. Analysis method is a combination of a Helmholtz resonator model and a vibration model of glass, and could get a good correspondence with the experimental result. When the frequency range in which glass comes up to resonance point, is divided into three steps, in low frequency range, friction force of leading tube, glass rigidity and volume of air space are related to response characteristics, and in middle frequency range, only glass rigidity and volume of air space are related. In third step, resonance phenomenon is equivalent to spring system which consists of the spring by rigidity of glass itself and airspring which occurs in air space between two glasses. It is considered that in actual double glazed windows Helmholtz resonance will not occur in most cases.
