Pressure-induced charge transfer and pressure effect on Tc in Tl 2Ba 2CuO 6+δ compounds

Abstract

Reasonably good agreement with pressure-induced changes of hole concentration in Tl 2Ba 2CuO 6+δ compounds can be obtained on the basis of a pressure-induced charge transfer model. The calculated pressure derivative of maximum T c of 0.87 K/GPa within the van Hove singularity scenario and the predicted variation of T c with pressure in bilayer Tl 2Ba 2CaCu 2O 8 are in excellent agreement with experiments.
