Abstract

Pressure effects on magnetic moment μ and Curie temperature T c are estimated from measurements of forced volume magnetostriction dω/d H for amorphous (FeM) 77Si 10B 13(M = Cr,Mn) and FeB alloys even in the case of T c62 T cry, where direct measurements of d T c/d p cannot be done for FeB over 20 at% B. For (FeM)SiB(M = Cr, Mn), the magnitude of d T c/d p decreases with decreasing T c while that of d ln μ/d p increases. For FeB, results of both d T c/d p and d ln μ/d p show the same feature as those for crystalline FeNi Invar alloys. These results are discussed phenomenologically.
