Pressure effect on the magnetic transition temperature of intermetallic compounds NdMn 2Ge 2 and PrMn 2Ge 2

Abstract

Pressure effect on the Curie temperature T c of NdMn 2 Ge 2 and PrMn 2 Ge 2 have been measured in order to study the atomic distance dependence of the Mn-Mn interaction for RMn 2 Ge 2 (R: a rare earth metal). The values of d T c /d p are found to be −0.6 K/kbar for NdMn 2 Ge 2 and −0.2 K/kbar for PrMn 2 Ge 2 .
