Abstract

Pressure effect on the magnetic properties of intermetallic compound Ni 74.6 Al 25.4 was investigated in pressures P up to 1.2 GPa. Spontaneous magnetic moment ps and Curie temperature TC decreased linearly with applying pressure. The dp s /dP and dT C /dP were -0.995 x 10 -5 μB/MPa and -4.57 x 10 -3 K/MPa, respectively. These obtained magnetic properties are analyzed on the basis of Takahashi's spin fluctuation theory for itinerant electron ferromagnets.
