Abstract

Abstract Based on the Elsasser model, a formula for the mean absorption applicable to the pressure effect of the nondispersive infrared gas analyser has been derived. The formula is generalized by removing the assumption in the Elsasser model that the total absorption coefficient, the half width and the spectral distance are constant.
