Abstract

Pressure distribution of septic tank effluent in subsurface soil absorption systems is gaining in popularity. This method of effluent distribution has the advantage over other methods of providing dosing in addition to more uniform distribution which reduces the rate of soil clogging and prevents localized overloading. However, the application of these networks has been limited because of the complexity of their design. To overcome this difficulty, the design criteria are discussed and a simplified design procedure presented.
