Abstract

The pressure dependence of the Curie temperatures of the Fe2P-typeintermetallic compounds MnRhP, MnRhAs and MnRhAs0.6P0.4 wasinvestigated up to 8 GPa. For MnRhAs both the Curie temperatureTC and the temperatureTt of the transitionfrom AFIto the canted state increased with pressure. However,Ttdecreased abruptly at 5 GPa where a pressure-induced ferromagnetictransition was observed. In contrast, the rate of increase ofTCincreased substantially at this pressure. The large positive pressure dependence ofTC inthese compounds is found to be strongly related to the value of the lattice parameterc.
