Abstract

The dependences of dc resistance of orthorhombic TaS 3 along b-axis on temperature from above Peierls transition to 77.3 K, electric field from 10 3V/cm to 2000 V/cm, and hydrostatic pressure from ambient to 3 Kbar were measured. The behaviour is similar to that obtained for resistance along a-axis. Both measurements are indicative of the hopping nature of transverse transport as in a kind of Fermi glass.
