Abstract
The Indian press played an important role in spreading the ideas of the women folk. It was a powerful and popular media, which fought against a number of socio-economic political atrocities throughout the world. The emergence of women’s journal was indeed a glorious tribute to the reform movement. Some noteworthy achievements by women in different fields appear in daily newspapers from time to time and in the major dailies and almost all the Indian Language dailies carry a weekly women’s section.
