Abstract

Macropinocytosis rather than coated endocytosis has been shown to operate for membrane retrieval in presynaptic terminals during transmitter release in cat superior cervical sympathetic ganglia (SCG) in situ under normal supply of blood. A consider amount of the macropinocytotic vacuoles, being transformed into tubular structures or multivesicular bodies, migrated from the presynaptic terminal to axons.
