Abstract

The paper was prepared on the basis of a few hundred records of criminal proceedings concerning burglary cases. While reading the files, special attention was paid to the way in which search of the crime scene was performed. The main question was how often criminalistic traces were discovered and preserved. The authors tried to analyze the effectiveness of crime scene investigation and the problem of how police action affects the court and its decisions.
