Abstract

In recent years higher education in Yugoslavia has been subject to significant changes. It is strongly linked to the concept of self‐management which serves as a base for the functioning of the socio‐economic life of the country. The functioning of this concept in Yugoslav universities is a main issue of the following article, which is an edited version of the paper presented by Dr. Sulejman Resulovic, Secretary General of the. Union of Yugoslav Universities, at the 19th Semestrial Conference of the Standing Conference of Rectors^ Presidents and Vice‐Chancellors of the European Universities (CRE) which was held from 23 to 24 April 1980 in Ohrid (Yugoslavia).
