Abstract

SummaryThe use of the mouse-protection test and viscerotomy for discovering the past extent and present occurrence of both aegypti-transmitted and jungle yellow fever are discussed. Further studies are necessary before methods other than vaccination can be developed for the control of jungle yellow fever. In the meantime anti-aegypti measures are imperative for the protection of cities and towns in endemic and possibly epidemic regions. Modifications in control methods have increased the efficiency and reduced the cost of anti-aegypti measures.
