Abstract
This book summarizes the proceedings of the Foundation for Research in Sexual Endocrinology and Study of Human Reproduction held in Brussels in May 1975. The main topic was diagnostic ultrasound, but all aspects, not just those related to the reproductive system, were covered. Leading European, Japanese, and American physicians participated. The latest advances in ultrasound in technical imaging, biological effects, obstetrics, gynecology, neurology, peripheral vascular disease, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, urology, breast disease, and thyroid and salivary gland disease were covered. There are 16 individual presentations; overall they are well written, nicely illustrated, and well referenced and present good overviews of their specific areas. Obviously, many newer advances have been made in the rapidly progressing field of ultrasound since 1975, but the material presented is still accurate.
